The printing house has reportedly printed 24,000 copies of the Holy Book in different sizes and forms, al-Watan daily reported.
It had a permit to do so, but the permit had expired and officials of the printing house had failed to renew it.
It is illegal in Egypt to print the Quran unless the required permits are obtained.
The manager has confessed to having collaborated with the owner of the printing house to commit the violation for financial gain.

The arrest has come in line with the efforts by the country’s interior ministry to prevent violations of the laws related to Quran printing and copyright.
